Great support and commitment so nearly stole the win from Chobham in the last few minutes.

Local rivalry in a good way in the sunshine at Chobham saw Vandals match and at times outclass a large Chobham side.

Chobham are larger in squad numbers, size and voice and have just been promoted to league 2. It shows that we have no fear and the character built over the last 2 seasons really showed.

Not intimidated the V's started slowly and it looked like the game would be very one sided BUT after a calming talk by match day captain Daniel Wellden and squad captain Callum Roker things changed. There is great rivalry within the two teams as most play at the same school so club colours brought out a different animal.

A great fast move to exploit the Chobham gave immense confident and the game plan was then to confuse the opponents and speed the game up. This worked through the second half and Chobham at times started the blame game within.

All the Vandals on the day tried their hardest and if it had not been for injuries to Jack Morriss, Joe Collyer, Naheed Ahmed, Dan Harrison, Callum Roker then the game may have been different.

Indeed if the captain on the day had kept his cool and not engaged in the sport of cage fighting when we were on the Chobham 5 metre then we should have won.

All credit to the lads and it looks good for next year. Chobham came runners up in the league we are entering next year so the games will all be like this.

It shows the importance of depth of squad and that all players know the calls, moves and show the passion needed to succeed.
