The second day dawned with sunshine in the sky, hard to believe possible given the weather for Saturday's game.

An illness to Dylan Francis removed him from the starting lineup and the game was moved to a much better conditioned pitch.

The game started in fantastic fashion for Vandals in complete contrast to the previous one, with all players really up for it and putting pressure on Newton Abbot from the start. The lads played for each other and throughout the game there were plenty of supporting players, the lineouts were contested or disrupted and the rucks were also contested really well. Newton Abbot had the better of the scrums but the backs closed them down really quickly preventing them using the ball so well. Also different conditions negated their fly half's kicking game with him being much less influencial.

It was a great pleassure to see each player performing at almost the top of their game. Particularly pleasing was seeing the forwards sprinting at the kick off to pressurise the receiving player, who on catching the kick was immediately flattened by Connor Paull at full tilt! The resulting follow up gave us another try.
Tries came throughout the game with the tries being scored by James Gulliver (3), Harry Weatherall, Adam Varney, Josh Riley and Max McArdle. The last one being pleasing for the work Max puts in and this resulting from him taking off down the touchline and going through or over players until he was tackled just short of the line. He set the ball well and had excellent support players securing the ball and driving a maul. This allowed Max to rejoin, take the ball at the back and with James Gulliver's help, driving over the line for the try.

This was an excellent team effort and Vandals ran out winners by 26 - 43.
