Having lost the use of their own pitches as late as Thursday, Old Guildfordians agreed to a hastily arranged alternative venue at Vandals for todays League 3 match.
Unfortunately by late Friday night, they could only muster a squad of 13 at best. At this point, their coach decided that it was best to forfeit the match rather than play it out with a seriously understrength squad.
Vandals league position is vastly improved with the bonus point win awarded for such an event, and an improvement to the points difference as the award is also for a 20-0 win.
We have always had a good relationship with our age group at Guildfordians and I wish their coach and squad the best of luck for the rest of the season - I know they have struggled this season but they are resilient. Hopefully, things will come good before the end of the season.
