I’m pleased to report that our inaugural intra club netball tournament was a great success with over 70 players from across all sections of the club taking part. The tournament was played by 8 teams in scorching conditions across three courts and a great time was had by all in what was very inclusive format.

There were some eye catching performances from many of our netball players and all the rugby players and cricketers who played certainly have a new found respect for just how skillful and athletic our netball players are. Thank you to Ellie,Tomasina and Stu Howkins for helping me organize the tournament and to all the netball ladies who had the unenviable task of umpiring rugby players unfamiliar with the rules.

The only slight controversy on the day was my Presidents team The Bears winning the tournament but as the old saying goes “my tournament, my rules”

It was also great to see so many Vandals who weren’t playing come down and support the day and enjoy the luxury afternoon tea in the marquee.
