Whilst we were back at the island celebrating international tours of old our current mini section were enjoying a hugely successful two-night tour to the Isle of Wight, full of fun, live music and great rugby.
Saturday featured some team building games, the traditional Tour Court, personal video messages of support from TV Gladiators Fury & Apollo and a barn-storming set from Vandals’ house band Big Tackle, who helped the Minis rock another Island.
Two late nights surprisingly proved the perfect preparation for Sunday’s trip to Vectis RFC as all Vandals age groups produced some thrilling rugby under blue skies.
A special thank you to the U11s organising committee who delivered in spades and set the standard for future trips.
In the last month we have seen some outstanding performances from across our various junior age groups that has seen Vandals power into the latter stages of the cup competitions. The U12, 13 & 14s are all in the Waterfall Cup & the 16s & Colts are in the Quins Cup - both the Surrey comps. The finals days are to follow later in March but to date we have finished;
Last Sunday we saw a Vandals blackout on the island with 4 wins from 4 games… including 3 games vs OCs teams who arrived with boom boxes onto the island stronghold… to leave empty handed.
