Volunteers Lunch, Spring mini festival and other news

A muddy weekend all but lots more rugby and exciting events to expect over the next couple of months.

Saturday 8th March - Our annual club Volunteers lunch, 1st XV vs Hove RFC 2.30 pm kick off. I have often said that any community club like ours is only as good as it’s army of volunteers and this annual lunch is the clubs way of saying thank you to our volunteers and to giving special recognition to those unsung hero’s who have really gone the extra mile over the last twelve months. This special two course lunch is FREE to club volunteers and £20 for supporters and £10 for kids.

Mark Baxter our fantastic rugby chair has kindly volunteered to organize the Volunteers lunch and awards this year to allow me to focus on our City lunch fundraiser.
If you would like to attend please contact Mark at Mark.Baxter@majesticventuresgroup.com

The day after our Volunteers lunch Sunday 9th March it is our legendary spring mini festival. This is a massive event for the club to manage and we will be looking for volunteers to help with parking and to join the bbq crew.

If you are able to volunteer to help with the spring festival please contact our brilliant mini Chair Stu Amos at amosstuart@hotmail.com

Hot off the press I’m delighted to announce that Surrey Rugby have asked The Vandals to host one of their finals days at Brownacres. In recent years these finals days have tended to go to larger clubs like London Irish and Esher so it is a big vote of confidence in us as a club and testament to the leg work our Rugby chair Mark Baxter has put in lobbying for the Vandals to host a finals day.

The date of this finals day is Sunday 23rd March when we have been asked to host all the Surrey under 15s age group finals.

We obviously want to make sure that we do a great job as hosts and we will need lots of planning and the support of a small army of volunteers to make it happen.
