Busy next couple of months ahead, key dates for your diaries

Saturday 11th January - 1st XV vs Cobham RFC. 2.00pm kick off.
Top of the table clash with local rivals, our 1st XV got the new off to a winning start last Saturday with a hard fought try bonus point win away to East Grinstead RFC. This win moves us up to joint second in the table two points behind new league leaders and our opponents this Saturday for our first home game of 2025 Cobham RFC.

Friday 24th January - Owls Vs Esher Vets. 7.45 pm kick off.
Last week we received the very sad news that long time Esher Vets skipper Cam Barlow passed away at the tragically young age of 51 just after Christmas. Cam was well known to many of the Owls having played against him for many years and we will be using this game to pay our respects to one of Rugbys good guys.

Weather permitting this will be our first ever 1st XV “Friday night lights” league match. 7.45 kick off. We will be doing a £10 Curry in the clubhouse bar prior to kick off and greedy boys will be manning their burger Van so put the date in your diary and come along to support the boys in this historic fixture.

Saturday 1st February- 2025 SIX Nations
We will be showing all the major Six Nations games on big screens at the club starting with the Ireland vs England game on Saturday 1st February. Whilst I will be in Dublin hoping that Ireland improve on their performances in the Autumn I’m sure the Vandals clubhouse will be full for what could be the game of the championship.

It will be a great opportunity to reminisce about the glory days and for retired Owls to share a pint with our current Surrey cup winning Owls.

Lots to look forward to in 2025
As you can see we have lots to look forward to in 2025 and lots of work is taking place in the back ground on even more events including a Vandals Family Fabre event on 14th/15th June which will be the official kick off event to this years Weybridge Festival.( more detail to follow in the weeks ahead).

Lots of work is going on in the background to bring our vision for two new floodlit MUGA/Netball courts to reality and I will continue to keep everyone informed on the progress we are making.

Whilst writing can I thank you all for your continued support and wish Vandals everywhere a very happy and healthy 2025.
