Let’s start with the Summer ball last Saturday evening. Nearly 200 guests from the rugby and netball sections and the wider Vandals family attended what was another memorable club event. We have two goals every year for this event, the first is that everyone who attends has an amazing time and the second that we raise much needed funds for the club through our special auction. I’m delighted to say that both these goals were met, it was our first experience of a silent disco but it was a huge hit.
On the auction we exceeded our expectations with £25,000 raised across 12 special auction lots that had been generously donated from across the Vandals family. A big thank you to everyone who donated auction lots and to those who bought them. Special mention to Krik Krikorian who paid £7k to use my Presidents park space for the season.
Every Summer ball we also pass round our giant piggy bank between tables to raise money for a chosen charity, this year we collected for the Princess Alice hospice and when I came to count the contents of our giant piggy bank on Sunday we had raised £914 which is fantastic
